Telegraph Cove is one of Vancouver Island's favorite place to visit. The boardwalked village with its preserved historic buildings recalls a rustic past in which the cove harboured a lumber mill and salmon saltery. Today, Telegraph Cove or TC as the locals call it, is the hub of North Vancouver Island's whale watching and Grizzly viewing community.

Alder Bay Resort is a great camp ground conveniently located approximately 12km (8 miles) before Telegraph Cove. They also have some rental accommodation as well as a small store.
Port McNeil is located about 30km North of Telegraph Cove. Although small by m ost standards, it does have most services that one would need. If you are arriving late in the day by bus or by plane, you may want to consider staying in Port McNeil the night before your trip. Port McNeil is a typical resource town and not really the most beautiful place but what it lacks in charm, it makes up in friendlyness.
